The best sea angling in Ireland

The best conditions for sea angling in Ireland are found where the rugged southwest coast meets the warm plankton-rich waters of the Gulf Stream. It's no surprise that this part of the country has produced more Irish sea angling records than any other. Baltimore in West Cork is in the heart of this coast and just about as far south in Ireland as you can get. A well-known centre for wreck, shark and common skate fishing, it is also home to most of the other major sea angling species of the northwest Atlantic. And here they are joined by less familiar fish from even farther south, courtesy of the Gulf Stream. In total the reefs, wrecks and banks off Baltimore have yielded more than fifty different species of fish. Rooster is a fast Offshore 105 charter boat purpose-built for the Baltimore area and operated by its most experienced angling skipper who has been fishing these waters for more than forty years.
